  • Did you have a great time at the Triple B BBQ? Did your family go
    to the city's fireworks on the 4th? 'I love a parade' - Homecoming,
    Veteran's Day, Christmas...............

    Events like these make the fabric of our area culture, along with
    Main Street summer events, the Fall Festival, Hobo Festival, Baker Heritage
    Day, and library programs. When businesses seek to start up or relocate, they
    consider the livability of an area - and that includes art and cultural events.
    Supporting existing events - and encouraging new ones - is another way for our
    Chamber to enhance the livability of our area, and our business climate.

    We also have a lot of talented people in our area. How many awards
    have our bands and choruses won? How many of our area students have won art
    contests? We also have adult artists and performers of professional caliber;
    and their art IS their business. Helping them develop their businesses through
    networking can add another component (and new members!) to our Chamber.

    How many times have you missed an event because you couldn't find
    the information in time? We have a wonderful resource in our Chamber calendar;
    making it a true community calendar will put Chamber information in front of
    every viewer!

    This is why the Chamber now has an Arts & Culture Committee -
    and why you should consider being a part of it!
