The Okaloosa County School District serves over 28,000 students from pre-K to adult education. All of the public schools are fully accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. Over the last several years Okaloosa County Schools have been rated number one in the state of Florida. Each school is committed to providing challenging yet safe educational experiences to all students. Within our public schools, students are given all the opportunities available to acquire the knowledge and skills needed for responsible citizenship, personal developemtn and life long learning. Okaloosa County School District was one of the first school districts to end the practice of social promotion, insisting that students meet academic standards in one grade before promtion to the next. After making the most dramatic learning gains since the state started grading schools, Okaloosa County has achieved a larger share of 'A' schools than the other 66 Florida counties.

Okaloosa County also offers several private Christian K-12 schools. For those looking for private, charter and vocational schooling there are plenty of choices. Crestview and the surrounding areas have independent charter schools such as NWFSC Collegiate High School. NWFSC offers a dual enrollment program for area high school students.
